TecNiq, Inc – New Construction

TecNiq, Inc is an engineering-driven manufacturer of high-quality LED lighting solutions for trailers, emergency vehicles, marine, and specialty applications. As the company expanded its product lines and workforce, TecNiq needed a modern facility that could bring operations together, support efficient production, and create room for future growth.

The new facility in Comstock Charter Township, just east of Kalamazoo, provides approximately 100,000 square feet of purpose-built manufacturing, warehouse, and office space. The layout is designed to streamline material flow, support automated processes, and create a clean, safe environment for employees—all while positioning TecNiq for continued expansion in Southwest Michigan.

Our role on the project

The Barton Group served as Owner’s Representative for TecNiq, advocating for the owner from early planning through project completion. Acting as an extension of TecNiq’s leadership team, TBG coordinated the work of the architect, contractor, and key partners to keep scope, budget, and schedule aligned with business goals.

• Supported pre-construction planning and helped align facility requirements with TecNiq’s production needs.
• Managed the selection and contracting of the project team, helping TecNiq evaluate proposals and choose the right partners.
• Reviewed budgets, schedules, and value options to steward the company’s capital investment.
• Monitored construction progress, quality, and safety, providing regular updates and problem-solving support for the owner.
