Project Profile
City of Buchanan Department of Public Works

Project at a glance
The City of Buchanan Department of Public Works project delivered a new, purpose-built facility of approximately 26,000 square feet to support the community’s public works operations. Designed as a pre-engineered metal building with a mezzanine and dedicated office space, the facility provides modern storage, fleet support, and administrative areas in one consolidated location.
The new DPW building replaces aging, undersized facilities and gives the City room to organize equipment, improve vehicle circulation, and support staff with safer, more efficient workspaces. Enhanced storage, clear separation of uses, and updated office areas help the City better serve residents today while planning for future maintenance needs.
Our role on the project
The Barton Group served as the City’s Owner’s Representative, guiding the project from early planning through construction. - Supported programming and scope definition to ensure the new facility met long-term operational needs.
- Provided budget and constructability input throughout design to help the City make informed decisions.
- Reviewed contractor bids, schedules, and pay applications on behalf of the owner.
- Monitored construction progress and coordination to keep the project moving toward completion.
