The Cassopolis Family clinic, a Community Health Center, was chosen for a $4.4 million federal grant through the Affordable Care Act.The groundbreaking for the $6.4 million building will be Aug. 20. The current clinic at 109 School St. sits on park property that is leased from the village and sits near many residences in addition to a park.  Mary Middleton has been working at the Cassopolis Family Clinic for more than 30 years and stated that there are children that play in the park and that there was  no good opportunity to expand on this property safely. The grant will allow the clinic to not only be moved, but will be expanded with size and services offered. The new clinic well be triple the old clinics size and will have 24 medical exam rooms and two procedure rooms. The extra services that the clinic will offer includes dental, laboratory and pharmaceutical. This building opportunity will not only offer new jobs, but provide more people with healthcare and education.
